DIY console table kit with monastery legs, turned table legs, unfinished wood parts, and complete farmhouse table base components for building a custom entryway table, sofa table, or narrow console.
Have you ever wanted to build your own entryway table, sofa table, hallway table, or console table? This unfinished console table kit provides the wood components needed to build the complete table base. Simply choose the tabletop that works best for your project, assemble the base, and add your favorite stain, paint, whitewash, clear coat, or finish.
Create a rustic farmhouse console, modern entryway table, narrow sofa table, dining room accent table, or custom furniture piece designed to fit your own space.
This listing is for the DIY table base kit only. Tabletop is not included.
Kit includes:
2 monastery-style turned table legs
4 angled footers
1 lower crossbeam
1 upper support beam
Hardware needed to assemble the included base components
Monastery table legs:
The monastery legs are purchased from a furniture-leg manufacturer and paired with the wood components made in our shop to create this complete console table base kit.
Each turned table leg measures approximately:
29" tall
5" x 5" square shank
The legs are crafted from durable rubberwood. Rubberwood is commonly used for furniture legs and generally accepts stain in a way that coordinates well with the real wood pieces included in this kit. Because different wood species are used, slight differences in grain and finished stain color should be expected.
Angled footers:
Each table leg includes one upper footer and one lower footer. The footers are cut at approximately a 45-degree angle and are predrilled to simplify assembly.
Each footer measures approximately:
13.75" long x 5.5" wide x 1.5" thick
Center the footers on the top and bottom of each leg before attaching them with the provided hardware.
The lower footers create a wider foundation for the table base. The upper footers provide support beneath the tabletop and may also be used as an attachment point by securing the tabletop from underneath.
Crossbeam and upper support:
The lower crossbeam adds stability while creating the classic monastery-style farmhouse look.
The lower beam measures approximately:
5.5" wide x 1.5" thick
The upper support beam measures approximately:
3.5" wide x 1.5" thick
The narrower upper support is designed to sit beneath the tabletop while remaining less visible. It adds support across the top of the table base and provides another possible attachment area for your tabletop.
Both support pieces include predrilled pocket holes to simplify attachment to the footers. Beam lengths vary depending on the size selected.
Approximate assembled base sizes:
32" long x 13.75" wide x 32" tall
Recommended for tabletops around 3ft long
44" long x 13.75" wide x 32" tall
Recommended for tabletops around 4ft long
56" long x 13.75" wide x 32" tall
Recommended for tabletops around 5ft long
All measurements are approximate and may vary slightly because the wood components are individually cut, planed, and sanded.
The assembled base height is approximately 32". Your final table height will increase based on the thickness of the tabletop you choose. Please include your tabletop thickness when planning the finished height of your console table.
Need a custom length?
Custom base lengths may be available. Please message us before ordering with the size you need.
Please note that we cannot shorten the height of this table base because the height is determined by the monastery legs and footer design.
Assembly and shipping:
This DIY furniture kit ships unfinished and unassembled.
The components may arrive in two separate packages. Packages may be delivered on different days.
Hardware is included for assembling the table base components. Hardware for attaching your tabletop is not included because tabletop thickness, material, weight, and attachment requirements can vary.
A drill will likely be needed for assembly. We recommend using wood glue at wood joints for additional stability.
Depending on the size, thickness, material, and weight of your chosen tabletop, additional brackets, supports, or bracing may be needed. Buyers are responsible for determining the appropriate tabletop attachment and support method for their individual project.
Real wood characteristics:
This table base kit is made using real wood components. Natural characteristics such as knots, grain patterns, color variation, rounded edges, mineral marks, small cracks, surface variation, and other organic wood features may be present.
These characteristics are expected and are not considered defects. They add natural variation and farmhouse character to each unfinished table base.
Light sanding may still be needed before applying stain, paint, clear coat, polyurethane, or another finish.
Important DIY notice:
This is an unfinished DIY furniture product intended for self-assembly and custom finishing.
